Rolling Stock Specialist

The Rolling Stock Specialist is responsible for the technical validation, specification, and acceptance of electrified rail vehicles and onboard systems. This role ensures that all rolling stock designs and manufactures proposals align with infrastructure requirements, statutory regulations, and international technical standards, overseeing the fleet from manufacturing through to commercial service acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive technical specifications for electrified rail vehicles and integrated onboard systems

  • Evaluate manufacturer tenders and technical proposals to ensure equipment compatibility with existing infrastructure and functional designs

  • Review Detailed and Functional Engineering Designs for railway systems and onboard equipment to issue recommendations for Employer approval

  • Oversee the manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases of the fleet to guarantee safety, performance, and technical compliance

  • Manage the formal acceptance process for all rolling stock assets before they enter commercial service

  • Verify that all design documentation and vehicle specifications comply with statutory regulations, technical standards, and quality requirements

  • Review the interface and configuration management utilized by the design consultants to ensure seamless integration between rolling stock and other railway systems

  • Determine and issue reasoned technical opinions for the approval or rejection of rolling stock design and manufacturing submissions

  • Reccomment approval to take over rollingstock during commissioning phase

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related Engineering or Management Field

Experience

  • 15 Years of Experience in Task-Related Fields

  • Experience working with European Railway Standards is Advantage

English Language Proficiency

TOEFL >= 70 / IELTS >=6.0 / TOEIC >= 750 / CEFR: B2 or better
