Safety, Health & Environment and Social Manager
The Safety, Health & Environment and Social Manager acts as the point of contact for the Independent Environmental and Social Monitoring Consultant to assess project performance. The role involves monitoring compliance with international Environment, Social, Health and Safety (ESHS) standards, Indonesian health and safety laws, and environmental regulations. The Engineer supervises construction waste disposal, labor conditions, and the implementation of environmental protection measures by contractors while assisting the Employer in meeting all authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with international ESHS standards including sexual exploitation abuse gender-based violence and occupational health and safety
Monitor regulations of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Social Management Plan (ESMP) to construction ESMP and traffic management plan
Monitor contractors’ environmental teams to ensure pollution control measures and prevent environmental law violations
Inspect and supervise proper disposal of construction waste and conformance of labor and working conditions with local laws
Follow up on results of inspections by regulatory authorities and the resolution of complaints regarding health safety labor or environment
Assist and advise the Employer to meet all environmental protection requirements required by relevant authorities
Provide regular progress reports and ensure immediate reporting of significant accidents and incidents to the Employer
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related Engineering or Management Field
Experience
10 Years of Experience in Task-Related Fields
5 Years of Experience in Urban Transport Projects in SEA and/or Indonesia
English Language Proficiency
TOEFL >= 70 / IELTS >=6.0 / TOEIC >= 750 / CEFR: B2 or better
