VGI technology expert

The VGI Technology Expert is the specialist responsible for assessing the technical feasibility, commercial viability, and readiness of V2H/V2G technologies for EGAT's 2026 pilot project and future scaling. The role centers on evaluating bidirectional charging hardware, Energy Management Systems, communication protocols, and customer interface platforms and advising National Power Utility’s on the best technology for its specific context in Thailand. 

A key output is the V2H ecosystem 'readiness review,' which maps all technology actors, standards, sourcing gaps in the Thai market and provide inputs to the pilot project plan covering infrastructure requirements, installation logistics, and technology costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer interface platforms including OpenADR/OVGIP (US), Mobilize Power App (Europe), KrakenFlex (UK), and Mobility House (Global), comparing cost, functionality, and technical support requirements
  • Assess various technology options and their feasibility relevant to the area of expertise for the given scope
  • Develop relevant documentation/reports outlined in the deliverables
  • Provide inputs to the team leader to assist in completing the deliverables

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree in engineering or other relevant fields

Experience

  • Experience in delivering V2H/V2G technologies, including technology rollout and assessing commercial viability of technologies, logistics and markets
  • Relevant experience/involvement in developing and/or implementing investment projects
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience and 5 years of international experience

English Language Proficiency

Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
